Applications may be picked up at the Human Resources Office of the Board of County Commissioners located at 135 NE Hernando Suite 203, Lake City. We accept applications for all positions during advertised job opening periods, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. If you have any questions, or need an application mailed to you, please call the Human Resources Office at 386-719-2025. Employee Safety

Columbia County prioritizes a secure workplace for all Columbia County employees through continuous oversight and training.

  • Safety Compliance: Conducts facility inspections and enforces OSHA and County safety policies.
  • Drug-Free Workplace: Administers the Drug-Free Workplace Policy, including random CDL and post-accident testing.
  • Accident Investigation: Investigates all workplace incidents to improve safety and frequency tracking.
  • Training & Equipment: Supervises the distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) and coordinates safety training.
